JCE is a powerful online text editor for Joomla, based on Moxiecode's TinyMCE. JCE stands for Joomla Content Editor, which makes creating and editing the Joomla content a bit easier by providing a set of WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor tool.

JCE provides all typical editing features like text color, align, styles, bold-italic-underline, font size, cut-copy-paste, indent adjustments, table insert, etc. It also includes standard web design tools such as inserting images, smiley's, anchors, code view, horizontal rulers and an ability to erase all formatting on a single-click.

One key feature of JCE is the ability to create links to Categories, Sections or Articles. Its toolbar layout is similar to the Microsoft Word layout. It comes with the ability to edit the toolbar using a drag-n-drop system.

Like Moxiecode's TinyMCE, JCE is an open source Joomla extension. JCE and its associated modules, components and plug-ins are released under the GNU/GPL Version 2 license. The JCE editor plug-ins and components are available immediately and are free to download and use. Some advanced plug-ins of JCE are available for $30 annual subscription.

JCE is very well supported extension and easy to install and update. Its editor toolbar provides more than 50 different plug-ins and commands, each represented by a drop-down list or button with which one can style and enhance the content. JCE is an easy and logical extension that includes advanced image/media, plug-in support, file and link handling, and an administration interface for editor configuration.
